For the 4th local platform workshop in Karyabinayak Municipality, a school-centered action planning workshop was conducted on November 27 and 28, 2016. The participants were principals, teachers, and school management committee members from eight schools. The workshop was facilitated by Dr. Koichi Shiwaku with assistance from the staff of the National Society for Earthquake Technology – Nepal (NSET).
The action planning process consisted of three steps: 1) listing problems and corresponding actions to solve the problems; 2) categorization of the actions; and 3) planning the implementation of the actions. In the workshop, action categories were the five dimensions of the School Disaster Resilience Assessment (SDRA), which was conducted earlier in February 2016. In the third step, each group considered the responsible organizations, support organizations, cost, time, and prioritization for each action.
