To understand the current condition of the schools in the target townships in Yangon, the School Disaster Resilience Assessment (SDRA) was conducted under the joint research on Disaster Education. SDRA is a tool developed at Kyoto University and first applied in Vietnam and in disaster-affected areas in Japan. SDRA consists of five dimensions and each dimension has three parameters. Under each parameter, there are five variables. In total, SDRA has 75 variables. Table 1 shows the structure of SDRA.
The SDRA survey in Yangon was conducted on February 29 and March 1, 2016 by Dr. Koichi Shiwaku. The responders were school principals. The number of participating schools were 36 from Tamwe and 16 from Panzundaung.
